Building blocks for group payments

Pay By Group makes it easy to accept payment from a group of customers online - in your app or on your site. Get integrated quickly by reviewing the Sample Scenarios, and select from our range of API (back-end) and JavasScript Library (front-end) integration tools.

Standard Purchase Flow

If you are a merchant creating or managing a purchase, these are the steps a purchase goes through. For the simplest implementation as a merchant, you only need to be concerned with Steps 1 and 7.

Step 1 can be done most simply with our JS Library, and Step 7 can be done manually or via the accept endpoint.

Steps 2-4 are only relevant if you are building your own version of the Pay By Group create-purchase flow instead of using the iframe-based one that shows as a modal on your site.

Steps 5-6 occur only within the Pay By Group environment.

  1. Purchase is created by the merchant (API method)
  2. Image for the purchase is uploaded by the merchant (API method)
  3. Purchase is claimed by the organizer (API method)
  4. Organizer invites members to the purchase (API method)
  5. Members join the purchase
  6. Payment is submitted by the organizer
  7. Merchant accepts payment (API method)
